Disposable but not compostable. But I like the idea of a container w/a screw-top for airtightness. Another good use for Talenti jars but it would be wise to label which ones you’ll use for cold soak and which ones for waste😮

I am looking at coming to Norway with my gravel bike in 2026. I have my own bike box. Are there any ideas on where I might store this whilst on the trip? My plan is fly to Oslo and leave box etc. and then train to Tromso. Thanks

Many USA parks and popular areas like canyonlands that are now very busy and require use of bags for backcountry use. Many carry a larger plastic container like an old mayonaise/food jar and you can put 2-3 bags in it. Here is a quick link to a popular one.

Yes, coming from Rovaniemi/ Neiden/ Varangerbotn, you should cross Tana River at Tana bru. Though scenery ist much nicer east of the river. Consider taking a detour via Varangerbotn peninsula 🙂
BTW: There is another ice road further south near Polmak. Services like Komoot and Ride with GPS are aware of the issue of misleading ice roads but…
