Planning a bikepacking trip this summer from Røros to Fredrikstad and wondering if anyone has experience connecting these two routes.

The idea is to start on NGR8 at Røros, cross into Sweden somewhere in the Engerdal/Femunden area toward Idre and Dalarna, ride south on gravel through Sweden, then re-enter Norway and pick up NGR4 along the border. From there potentially continuing on NSR4 Innlandsruta/Villmarksruta southward through Østfold and home to Fredrikstad.

1. Has anyone connected NGR8 and NGR4 this way – where does the crossing into Sweden work best, and does anyone have GPX files for that section?
2. What are the highlights along this corridor?
3. General tips very welcome.

Not familiar with the area and will be travelling with tent or hammock. Wondering which works best in this terrain – are there enough trees along the whole route, or are parts of it open enough that a tent is the safer option?
