Bikepacking in Jotunheimen or other areas
My girlfriend and I are going to Norway this summer. Right now, the plan is to park the car somewhere and go cycling for 2–3 days from there.
Is there a round trip route or option in Jotunheimen to cover about 200 km over 3 days?
Do you have any other tips for similar cycling routes in southern Norway or on the same height as Jotunheimen? We are…

Tick-tock, tick-tock! Regarding the Lofoten Islands: are there any roads other than the main E10? I see some smaller roads on Google Maps, but I haven’t been able to find one that actually traverses the islands. One alternative is to cycle in the early hours of the morning. In any case, since I have time, I’d like to explore Lofoten… Read more

You can’t avoid cycling on E10 for some stretches but of course there are some other and nicer roads. Try the EuroVelo 1: https://www.opencyclemap.org/?zoom=9&lat=68.32078&lon=14.76545&layers=B0000

Hello out there.
I will like to hear, if anyone have tried to go Kristiansand – Haukeli – Rauland – Vrådal – Larvik.
How is the road vs. trafic, and is it possible to get a lot of gravel ??
Hope to hear from somebody out there.
Regards.
Jacob, Denmark.

Planned Train disruption Oslo - Trondheim
If you have already purchased your train tickets with bike space, the company, by law, must transport your bikes to your final destination. So you should be good. Last month, I updated the Public transport page with further info on the ‘Buss for Tog’ policy to help answer these questions: https://cyclenorway.com/en/bike-rental-repairs/

How do I get rid of a bike box at the airport?
In the summer, the oversize bag area keeps bike boxes for people flying out. You should be able to give it to them. They are located on the departure floor, just follow the signs.

Had you pre-paid your ticket? Did they provide a refund. I am worried I will be in the same position trying to get from Oslo to Vinstra mid July. I’ve already purchased two tickets and two bike tickets.

Hi, my friend and I (both 68 males) will be riding the Northern part of the route from Sortland to Nordkapp on July 13-23, 2026. We plan on camping with the occassional hotel. A couple questions for the community…1) any tunnels that will be closed to cyclists or to be aware of during that period, and 2) what is the best/fastest way to…

The Nappstraum Tunnel is currently undergoing major upgrade work and is closed to cyclists throughout the construction period.
From 15 June to 15 August, the tunnel is open to motor traffic, but cycling through the tunnel is not permitted. To assist cyclists, a transport service is provided through the tunnel twice daily at 10:00… Read more- View 1 reply

Thanks for the reply. Since we are starting at Sortland, we will miss the Nappstraum Tunnel. Looks like the the best option for us to get back to Tromso is to take the Daily Coastal Boat. Do we need to make reservations or can we just show up and get a ticket. Thanks.
