Correction, I see from Vinstra you’re doing the gudbrandsdalen route 7 to Lillehammer. Better to take the mountain road Peer Gynt vegan that runs on the west side before Vinstra.

No it looks great. Always nice to cycle out of the city and feel that achievement as you reach the remote areas. Lillehammer is the perfect place to finish with easy train access running every hour to Oslo.

In the premium members section, you will get a lot of info regarding loops around Ålesund. This is a small version, but you can extend it to 300-400km. This is mentioned in the alternative section on the detail page: https://cyclenorway.com/en/routes/the-worlds-greatest-day-ride/

Last year I did a full video series on loop rides all over Norway. Many of them are short and ideal for one or two-day trips. There are loads of gravel in this area, and they recently fixed up a few new roads higher into the forest, which are in great condition. You can also do a big loop with some paved heading back to Geilo.

You should stick with the Eurovelo 1. It’s the most scenic and safest way. There are limited options around that area, and some other roads may have impassable tunnels. https://cyclenorway.com/en/routes/atlantic-coast/stage-1/

Route 2 – unless the weather is really bad. The Vy bus won’t allow bikes – they hate cyclists.

You can also go over the plateau east of Nesbyen, which will bring to Gol. But there are single tracks in places, and a light bikepacking set-up is recommended for these areas.
