It looks like the weather is going to be pretty great multiple days this week. Can anyone recommend some great routes around 40-60km to do?
I thought about nordmarka, but I guess there is still too much snow on the roads upthere?

The First Mountain Road opened for the season today (14.03.25). The mighty Valdresflye is ready to be cycled…well, that is, if you have spikes on your tyres and battery-heated gloves and socks! 🥶
The next road to open should be Sognefjellet – usually mid-April.

Greetings Cycling Norway riders
Just touching base on the new community platform… I hope!
If all goes to plan I’ll be hitting the road in Norway come mid May for hopefully 6-8weeks touring unless I “I pull a hammy” and retire early! looking forward to it!!
Cheers

Hi there,
Myself and some friends are travelling from Ireland to cycle Oslo to Bergen on 8th to 15th May.
Do you think there’s *any* chance of the Rallarvegen being passable?
If not, do you know if the Fv50 from Hagafoss to Flam is a possible alternative. I am reading that the tunnels are all accessible by bike on this route, but googlemaps…

Thanks Matthew, that’s very helpful.
We’re preparing for freezing temps on the high parts, we’ve some experience rolling about in the cold here in Irish winters. So hoping that prepares us. We will keep a close eye on the weather also of course.
We’re getting the ferry from Flam to Gudvangen and then picking up the road again there.
Thank you!

Hello the community 🙂
We are planning on doing a gravel trip with our 1 year old baby. We will use the thule cross behind our bike.
Any recommendation on the best gravel itinerary with the more « clean » gravel roads.
Clean = not close to mountain biking or vert short one
Thanks a lot 🙂

Hey! The first thought that springs to mind is Nordmarka, the woods north of Oslo. There are kilometer upon kilometer of clean gravel criss-crossed in there, with a few lodges that can serve as nice highlights.
If you’re thinking more of a several day long adventure, I can vouch for Mjølkevegen and the surrounding area. There are one…

I’m excited to share that we’re working on a brand-new Oslo Region page, set to launch in mid-April! This page will feature a mix of gravel and paved routes, perfect for both visitors exploring the city for a weekend and locals looking for fresh rides this summer.
If you have any route recommendations—or even better, if you’d like to contribute…
