In mid to late June, im looking to cycle up Mjølkevegen from Vinstra, work my way to Tusenmeteren and eventually ride Gamlestrynefjellvegen on the way back from Nordfjord. With a few other National Scenic Turist Routes along the way.

I’m also thinking about coming to Norway in mid-June to ride a combination of Mjølkevegen and Rallarvegen. I found the inspiration at bikepacking.com.
What is your general opinion that the trails are already passable in mid-June? From what I read, June is still a bit early for the cycling season.- View 1 reply

Will be riding Mjølkevegen in early August (Gol to Vinstra) followed by Fjord Norway Åndalsnes to Ålesund. Then taking Hurtigruten to Bergen to spend a few days in Bergen with some day-trips there. Finishing up on Rallarvegen from Haugastøl to Flåm.

Gaularfjellet has opened more than a month earlier than usual this year. In 2024, it didn’t open until mid-May, but this year the barriers came down on April 11th. Snow report in Nordmarka 12.04.25. Gravel roads below 300m are mainly clear. However, once you get above that and especially above 400m the roads are covered in ice. I met a guy today who walked over an hour on ice with his bike near ring 4.
