Finally made it from Oslo to Bergen! 🥳 The route was pretty gravel oriented and diverged from the official options. The first part part was quite similar to Mattews “Oslo to mountains loop”. Btw. this one seems popular as I met three girls riding the loop.
Partially the route was created on my own with the kind help of @Matthew Norway .… Read more

That is such a great route! Well done! And, yes, that last section into Bergen is never pleasant and it’s annoying they have not built cycle lanes there yet. Once you return home, this route would make a great blog post 🙂

You can also go back down to Geiranger. Take the boat to Hellesylt and ride gamle strynefjellsvei back to Grotli and the ride Grotli – Lom – Otta as the last leg

Tips for locations around Geiranger -> Lom -> Otta?
Yes, I believe that is your best option. If you need to get back to Oslo, you’ll need to head to Lom, then Otta. The other option is to continue to Flåm, which is too far away. I can’t think of any other options with the restricted time frame you have. Sognefjellethytta to Otta is a comfortable journey, allowing you to take the last train home to Oslo.
