Dombås – Åndalsnes – Ålesund and Ålesund – Geiranger – Dombås?
Hi!
Im planning a trip this weekend, taking the train from Oslo to Otta or Dombås and doing the second half of the Rörås-Ålesund route (finishing in Ålesund). Has any one done this ride? I have a few questions if you have time to answer. For your info I’ll have a gravel bike…2 Comments-
E136 is the main road and can be busy at certain times of the day. Part of the road has a cycle lane. In general, you are cycling on a few main roads with traffic (Any road that has E by it is a main road). Take a bus through that long tunnel from Åndalsnes town centre and ask the driver to drop you off at the first stop after the tunnel.…

Thanks for your reply. Good to know about the tunnel and the E-roads.
Unfortunately my bus to Oslo was delayed and I will miss my train from Oslo-Dovre. Cant really find any other good options apart from the RE10 train that leaves first tomorrow evening. Wanted to ask you if you have any other recommendations on travel options? My mail goal is…

Thank you very much! Here a little update from my side: I got it fixed at Sportshjørnet (MX-sport). Also got the recommendation from another guy, who started the European Divide Trail and was there before. So this seems to be the place to get your bike fixed in Kirkenes!
I came up here by cycling through Sweden and Finland in almost 50…

@mpage The “Arctic East 700” isn’t a cycling event but a highly recommended route to the northeast end of Norway, see https://cyclenorway.com/en/routes/the-arctic-east-700/
Sorry for being a smartass 😜

Another Big Agnes Copper Spur fan here. I had the 2-person for solo travel and got the 3-person for us when we got married as our own wedding gift 😂

Headed to Dombås for Tour de Dovre next week 🤞🏼🌤️ I’ve read the artical from December but feel free to share any of your “Must See” or “Must Do” along the route or along the drive there from the south 🙌🏼. We have the whole week off and will likely do the TdD Wednesday-Friday.

Maybe not a “must see” or “must do” but a nice little walk from the road east of Dovre, you’ll find a nice shelter with a great view: https://maps.app.goo.gl/1mRj4fxz4cQnFWoH8
Good luck with the weather 😎

I’ve used cycle.travel to plan my routes, then drop them into Strava which comes to my Wahoo. Had very little issues so far
We also ran into some cyclists using Mapy which looks interesting but haven’t used it on the road
