Yes, I believe that is your best option. If you need to get back to Oslo, you’ll need to head to Lom, then Otta. The other option is to continue to Flåm, which is too far away. I can’t think of any other options with the restricted time frame you have. Sognefjellethytta to Otta is a comfortable journey, allowing you to take the last train home to Oslo.

Is there more than one Grimstad? I only know of the one near Kristiansand. I got excited about the note that said “Grimstad has built dedicated gravel loops for e-bikes and families.” but the link takes you to Tour de Dovre in Dombås. I do see a GrimsDALEN nearby there on the map, though. Perhaps Grimstad is a typo? Or perhaps I still…

I’m also VERY curious about “the revival of gravel access through Hallingdal” …I was trying to patch something together on RWGPS but figured there’s definitely some insider info going on here that I can’t find via my limited resources hah. I would love to do a loop from Drammen or Kongsberg on the NSR #4, then hang the hard left at Nesbyen…

Options I can think of:
1) Join Warmshowers and contact people in Oslo and see if any have space for two bikes

Last weekend in Telemark. After two weeks of dry and settled weather, we now have a low-pressure system over southern Norway. Some wet and below-average temperatures are expected in the last week of May and early June. Northern Norway’s temperatures look roughly the same as the south, with both sunny and unsettled days in the next week.
