Just give your boxes to staff. They will save them for people flying out of Tromsø. There is a big demand for them.

Hello everyone
We are planning to fly to Tromsoe in June and then cycle back to Germany.
We would like to dispose of our packaging waste – cardboard and bubble wrap – cleanly on site.
Is anyone familiar with the airport and can advise on the best way and place to do this ‘without leaving a trace’?Many thanks for any advice

Hello Trine, I totally agree with Matthew, It’s really worth it, I would recommand to start from Lom, the other side is more steep. We did it end of July 2023, during the day and there was not a lot of traffic at all, we were a bit surprised about that. We camped somewhere on top, a bit further then the hotel and it was an amazing place to stay,…

There is no right or wrong direction both ways are amazing, but from Lom is considerably easier. Just cycle it early in the morning or late in the evening if you want limited traffic. It’s safe to cycle even with traffic.

Whats your favourit food/product to take for Bikepacking from the local supermarkets(Rema/Kiwi/…)?
In Germany there are some nice precooked Rice-Dishes which are easy to prepare&fast to heat up. Im searching for solid food, other then Pasta, to prepare after a long cycling day 🙂

Food on the trail is perhaps the biggest challenge of all. I once backpacked with a group whose leader served us (real) strawberry shortcake and gave me a cold Guinness..
