• Hey Team.
I am planning Bergen to Nordkapp next June-July. I have 33days. 90-95km a day. I am paid up member looking through the maps atm. Has anyone done this route staying in basic accommodation the whole way? Would LOVE to see your itinerary/ towns to stay in/ suggestions for cheap cabins/ hotels.
Currently finding the planning a little overwhelming 🙂

      Thanks in advance

That’s a big question with multiple answers. If you find the whole journey a bit overwhelming (which is certainly normal) and need real help. Jump on a call with me and we can go through each section and possible accommodation options. Bringing a tent helps in certain remote areas but you can certainly find accommodation every 50-75km. Not all will have budget options at times.

        • @Matthew Norway Thanks so much I am certainly keen to book a call, just need to try get a few things in order so i don’t call completely clueless 🙂 love what you do btw, its fantastic

        • I’ve done Norge på langs in 2018/19, by tandem from Lindesnes fyr to Slettnes fyr, over two holidays. Happy to share our route with stops, with the provisor that the hotels and cabins on campsites may well have changed (or closed) by now.

Happy to chat, if you like.

        • Dear Adelle
If you’re still planning your trip, I can give you some suggestion for accommodations on a short section of your route. Unfortunately they are not cheap, but the cheapest I could find. I usually sleep in my tent, but last year (2025) on my way back south from Tromsø I got sick, so I had to sleep in rooms, until I gave up my cycling tour completely (but I will go back 2026, maybe we’ll meet!).

          Andøya:
Risøyhamn: Risøyhamn Kafe, Room and shared kitchen, Booking.com 800NOK
Bleik: Camping Midnattsol has also rooms with shared kitchen, sea view, big terrace, very very nice place! 890 NOK (From here it is 12km to the Ferry to Senja)

          Senja
Gryllefjord, Fjord Haven, Apartment with 3 rooms total 730NOK Booking.com
Skaland Camping Bedehuset have also rooms, nice shared kitchen, 1500 NOK Booking.com

Fjordgård (if you want to hike to Hesten to see Segla): Segla Grill has expensive Rooms but also 2 very simple rooms with outside (around the house) toilets and shower for “only” 1000 NOK, no shared Kitchen, but Restaurant (beware of a very cold and wet 3km tunnel just before Fjordgård, dress up before the tunnel)

          Fjordbotn
If you plan to cross with the speedboat from Lysnes to Tromsø, there is 5km before Lysnes in Fjordbotn a campsite with some cabins and a restaurant. Fjordbotn camping.

          Tromsø
1km outside: Boukersenheim very nice owners, they looked after me when I was sick! Important to ask for the rooms upstairs! 600NOK, nice shared kitchen and livinroom
in the Center: Cocoapartements 560 NOK very simple but OK, booking.com.

I did not cycle between Tromsø and Alta yet…

          Alta
I stayed but it 3 or 5 km outside of Alta in the “Alta Strand Camping” (in this place there are 2-3 campsites, this is the last one), Cabin 560NOK
          Olderfjord
Campsite Russenes with Restaurant and they have also rooms but I stayed in the tent.

Nordkapp13km before Nordkapp in Skarsvåg Basecamp I stayed in a cabin for 950NOK 2024. (And cycled frome here without the lugguage to Nordkapp)

          Happy cycling!
          Krisztina
