Hello everyone!
I’m planning a cycling trip in Norway this summer, starting from Oslo (or somewhere nearby, possibly taking a train to the starting point).
At the moment, I have two main route ideas:
-
Oslo to Trondheim, with a train ride back to Oslo.
-
The Bright Midnight Route which starts from Tolga.
Which of these do you think would be the most interesting?
I’m also open to other suggestions for a route of around 1000 km, ideally with mountains, beautiful gravel roads, lakes, rivers, and epic Norwegian landscapes.
Last summer I cycled Rallarvegen and the Milky Way route, which were amazing.
Thanks in advance for your advice!

The Bright Midnight route is by far more interesting and has many of Norway’s must-ride roads. But it’s hard! Really hard with so much up and down. The weather will also be challenging. If you are ready for the challenge. Go for it and keep us updated with how it goes!
