Hi everyone! I’m new here and super excited about this community. 🤗
My boyfriend and I are planning a trip in mid-July from Bergen to Kristiansand. We’ve got about 12 days and want to take the ferry from Denmark to Bergen. From there, we want to first follow the “Oslo – Bergen” route but extend it along the east coast to Kristiansand and follow the “Nasjonal sykkelrute 1“.
I was wondering would it maybe be smarter to ride the other way around (Kristiansand > Bergen)? Or does the direction not really matter that much in terms of climbing / wind?
One more question: We’re both vegan. On our previous trips through Sweden and Denmark, we had no issues finding vegan options in supermarkets (besides the classic pasta with tomato sauce 🙈). Does anyone know what the vegan food situation is like in Norway, especially in smaller supermarkets or cafés/restaurants? We’ve only been to Oslo before, where it was super easy.
Looking forward to your thoughts and tips – thanks in advance! 😊

Vegan is fine in Norway. Supermarkets cover your requirements. There is a full overview of food and drink in Norway on the website for members. https://cyclenorway.com/en/food-drink/
Bergen to Kristiansand in general will offer more tailwind and is the way I would go.
