Naustdal Tunnel – the way around the tunnel is in very good shape. Great asphalt all the way up and down. The tunnel on top is pretty narrow and very dark. Here the surface is pretty bad but very well rideable. So overall a great experience and certainlt recommendable.

Hej, has anyone recently cycled the Eurovelo 1 around the Naustdal tunnel? I heard it has been closed last year and the tunnel seems not great to ride. Thanks a lot, Marco

As far as I’m aware, the long side road around the main tunnel is still fine to cycle even though it’s been closed to cars. There is an old tunnel at the very top, which has no lights and is not in the greatest condition, but I have heard no reports that you can’t cycle through. Please take some photos and report back when you are there.

Regards from Kilboghamn. Just spent last night on Polarcamp, a great Camp spot with a spectacular view and great weather. Now waiting for the ferry to Jetvika and finally crossing the polarcircle.

Meanwhile we reached Vennesund and cycled around the beautiful Lysfjord today. Luckily with sunshine all day after a very cold day yesterday. Tomorrow we are going to Vega and will stay there for two days to have a break.

Soon we are about to start. We will arrive in Oslo by ferry on Tuesday and then cycle our way up to Tromsø. Very excited to hit the road
