This photo was taken just a few days ago in late April, by people walking up Trollstigen. Hard to believe that two years ago, when I visited in early May, the switchbacks were still completely buried in snow.
Can you cycle it before the official opening on July 14th? It’s hard to say for sure based on this image alone. The fact that people are walking it suggests it might be possible—but there are a couple of important things to keep in mind:

You do it at your own risk. If you’re caught by security or construction crews, there’s a chance you could be fined or told to turn around with a telling off.

Conditions will change. With the road now cleared, construction teams will likely return to continue safety upgrades started last year. That could mean barriers, machinery, and security appearing without notice.
Bottom line: nothing’s guaranteed. If you try to ride it before July 14th, you’re relying more on luck than planning. I hope members who are in the area will keep us updated!
