Hi. My wife and I are from Australia, and this year in May/June rode 2,389km from Amsterdam to Budapest. Flat bar touring bikes, both Merida. Looking to ride a circuit in 2026 Copenhagen to Stockholm to Oslo then back to Copenhagen via Goteborg, across to Fredrikshaven, then EV1 down the west coast, then cut cross country back to Copenhagen. Looking for route advice, especially for the Stockhold to Oslo section. Much appreciated.

Hi Nigel, that’s a big trip and a big question to answer. You’re welcome to book call (see main website) and I go through options to consider in this region. There is no official Oslo – Stockholm route and it’s tricky to keep off the main road in places. Going further north adding a few km is perhaps a better option and more scenic than a straight line across.

@Matthew Norway thanks for touching base. Yes, it will be a big ride but loving the planning stage so far! Have already had a rethink about the Danish leg, thinking about going in the reverse direction, and taking the Danish East Coast to Fredikshaven as there is a lot less gravel. Learned how unpleasant this can be in the Amsterdam – Budapest ride ……… The Goteborg up to Oslo, then across to Stockholm. Will follow up wth you later re a chat, my wife and I would find that very usefu. Also found a fabulous Danish site – ruter.dk. Interactive with donloadable GPX files.
