Finally made it from Oslo to Bergen! 🥳 The route was pretty gravel oriented and diverged from the official options. The first part part was quite similar to Mattews “Oslo to mountains loop”. Btw. this one seems popular as I met three girls riding the loop.
Partially the route was created on my own with the kind help of @Matthew Norway . Actually the gravel only ended in Mjølfjell at the hostel which I can recommend. After that the route still avoided main roads but followed lonely country roads. A personal favourite was Hamalgøvegen on the last day. And the ride down to dale a real roller coaster.
Only on the final km’s my routed had a nasty flaw – I had no other option than to cycle the narrow main roads from Haukeland into Bergen. 🙈 At least the last 2km to Montana Hostel (which is really nice) were quite with view iver the city.
P.S. Apart from Finse – Hallingskleid Ralarvegen is in great contition.

After a rest day in Bergen the next goal is Trondheim. I hope the wind and weather will be on my side!

That is such a great route! Well done! And, yes, that last section into Bergen is never pleasant and it’s annoying they have not built cycle lanes there yet. Once you return home, this route would make a great blog post 🙂
