• Norway Day 5

Down to 5 last night, cold does things to your bladder, so together it was a 4am wee just as the sun was peaking over the mountains.

I made a drink about 8 the sun was now heating the tent, so we decided to say put for the morning in our wild camp spot, as we had just over 30km to cycle. Jenni was brave and went for a dip in the lake. Not me. I dipped my big toe in.

Today’s ride was following two valleys, the first next to Sirvalsvatnet Fjord with the road perch 30 meters above, which included 2 tunnels, well lit but still very noisy. In between the tunnels perhaps built by a troll were some stone chairs with great veiws down the Fjord.
We stopped in the town of Tonstad at the head of the lake, for an ice coffee and dounut a treat, before the expected climb to the campsite. It was a climb but a gentle one so our legs had an easy day.

After paying for our pitch, the owner came out just as we were chatting about where to lay the tent and offered us a cabin as rain was coming. Such kindness and a warm night.

Tomorrow will be a long day continuing alongside steep rocky valleys where Jenni sees faces.

I bet if you turn up in a car you’d be in a tent tonight😛!
