Hi all. We left Bergen last Friday and we are cycling North. We are a bit confused! I didn’t study the cyclenorway map of the EV1, we already bought the Bikeline EV1 map (i like a paper map). Just realised that there is a discrepancy! Our map does not get a ferry from Floro but goes over mountainous (pushing for us oldies!), via Svelgen, Isane, Kjolsdalen to Maurstad. Lots more leg work!
So questions:
Are there any other discrepancies?
Any recommended “short cuts” and how, where, why. Has anyone used a bus for a tricky section?
Thank you in advance.

That is a tough road to cycle with some long tunnels! One of the tunnels is 5km Bortnetunnelen and is prohibited from cycling through. You will need to take a very long detour on road 614. On Cycle Norway, each stage is detailed with a full story page. That is by far the best resource to use when navigating up the coast. We go into detail about closed roads, tunnels, ferries and everything else that is important to be aware of. The Bergen to Ålesund route has some discrepancies due to landslides near Førde. But after that, it should be straightforward to follow to Nordkapp.
