Short gravel alternative between Trondheim and Steinkjer (more precisely: Leksvik – Mosvik):
I travelled in the north-south direction (towardsTrondheim). Instead of road 755 (whose traffic I found a bit unpleasant) I discovered a small road along the fjord on the map and decided to try it. I liked it very much.
There is no traffic at all.…

All I can send for now are screenshots of the map showing the rough location and the profile. The Android version of Garmin Connect doesn’t let me download the gpx file. I will do that from a PC when I get home in a few days from now.
Note that the trace goes beyond Leksvik to the Hindrum campground.

Melfjordbotn without the dead end: my failure and an idea that could work:
I just completed the Atlantic coast route north-south from Bodø to Trondheim. This route passes closely by the reportedly beautiful Melfjordbotn, but Mo-i-Rana on the E6 is difficult to incorporate into the coastal trip.

This is the same issue I had when I visited Melfjordbotn. It seemed there was a boat to catch at the end of the fjord, but having spoken to locals in Melfjordbotn, it only runs in winter when the road pass is closed.
