    Hello,

my Name is Renata and we are planning a cycle tour in Norway during the first 3 weeks in September.

It is not our first tour in Norway. We already made several cycling tours in Norway. This time it’s going to be our first tour with eBikes because of age and some other issues. So my first question is: are we allowed to take the Trike of my husband in the train and its bike wagon from Oslo to Gol.

We would like to skip the distance between Oslo and Gol by train and would like to cycle up to the north through the fjells and fjords, and then back by Lillehammer to Oslo. We are close to 60 years old, so our daily tours won’t be longer than Approximately 60 to 70 km a day.

    Best regards Renata

Unfortunately you can not take Trike bicycles on Norwegian trains.

I have seen information that says that you can book passage for a bike on the VY175 bus that runs from Oslo to Geilo (kinda close to Gol). But verify that and ask about trikes specifically.

I ride an eTrike that I have transported many times over long distances by train in France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy, alltrougt it was prohibited on this.

The approach is to have a foldable trike, such as the HP fs Skorpion and put it in the trike bag sold by HP.

At least on trains that allow bikes on board, you can often get away with it, alltouth it is clealy prohibited. It also helps to reserve two bike spaces for the trike on such trains.

The prerequisite is, of course, that the folded trike can fit somewhere on the train without compromising or interfering with safety.

To do this, you need to know the carriage material in advance.
