An international traveler with bike box/luggage that will not fit on the bike

When we talked on Tuesday you mentioned a company that would pick up a bike box and luggage at the hotel and store for a month or so. Is that the same as warmshowers?

I just want to share how I stored my bike box during a bike ride from Tromsö. Maybe that helps.

When I arrived in Tromsö, the luggage storage was closed du to construction work. Honestly, I didn’t even know If the airport would have stored the bike box in the first place even if it was not under construction.

Anyways. I ended up just knocking on the door of a car rental office outside the airport. They were super helpful. They just put the bike box in an empty office room for the five days that I was on my trip. Everything went super smooth. I had no concerns at all. That’s the thing Norway. Everybody is so trustworthy and helpful. They didn’t want to take any money for the storage. I tipped them about 500kr in at the end.

Long story short. Maybe try the rental car offices around the airport.

That’s a great experience. The rest of the world (especially my part) could use some Norway attitude.

My challenge is that I am going to be out for up to a month, traveling from/to the US and will have luggage & contents that I will also need to store.

I still have time to work this out but it would be nice to be able to cross it off my list soon.

I considered renting a storage unit but being from out-of-country may present contract complications.
