Hi. I’ve exported some Cycle Norway routes to my premium Ride with GPS account. But the POIs are not showing up when I open the route in Ride with GPS. Can anyone help me with this please?

    Hi Leigh,
probably the POIs are missing in the GPX file, but I’m using a different way to load the routes.

Clicking “View Full Version” will open RWGPS in a new tab and show the route with all POIs. In RWGPS you can save the route or export the GPX file.

Stefan has a good suggestion but I also wonder if you didn’t use the ‘Include in route’ option when creating the POI. That’s what I do and all of my POIs are there on my gps device.

When you download a GPX file, it only contains the route line. The POIs are visible when viewing the route on Ride with GPS or by pinning the route to your own account, but they remain the property of Cycle Norway. Pinning simply “borrows” the route — it does not transfer ownership.

The reason is simple: POIs take a huge amount of time and research to create. If they were downloadable, individuals, companies, or organizations could take my work and use it on their own websites, social media, or even for commercial purposes. That would make it impossible for me to run Cycle Norway as a business.

The POIs are part of the value of your membership, and keeping them tied to the platform is how I protect the work that goes into them.

    Best regards,
    Matthew
