Norway Day 21
Set the alarm for an early start to beat a road closure at 8.30. We impressed our Dutch neighbour with our super quick pack before heading to the kitchen for breakfast.
Away by 7.30 along the Fjord, it was a few km before we passed the workman who was removing a sheer cliff to widen the road.
Entering the village of Granvin, I found a bench by a shop and ate our yummy pastry and said goodbye to the Hardangerfjord.
We knew we had one climb today, but what we did not know that once there was a railway line to Granvin from Voss which has now been converted to a cycleway, we enjoyed again a route to ourselves as we navigated around a lake after a wrong turn oops moment.
We would be on this cycle route on and off to Voss. Before the climb, another unmarked 50-meter white noisy waterfall appeared magnificent as it tumbled into the valley. You can not help stopping and taking a photo.
Shortly after this, we stripped our waterproof layers off as the rain forecast did not arrive, and we would boil up the climb. It looked very red on Komoot, but it was a steady 5 to 7 per cent twisting up towards the Skjervsfossen Waterfall. It did not disappoint big smiles and one visitor screeching as she hopped and ran towards it. There were many Japanese at the top. You would think heading for the waterfall, but no, they were queuing to take a photo of the glass bottom toilets.
We rejoined the cycle route 16 km downhill to Voss, passed a tiny troll bridge, and a forset covered in moss before the route entered the outskirts with industry and shopping centres and finally our campsite.

It sounds like part of this leg is going to cover the Voss -> Granvin leg that I have planned for my tour later this summer. I looked briefly at your komoot link but didn’t get much out of it. Is it possible to export a gpx file that I could import to RideWithGPS? No hurry.
When I have time I will take another, longer, closer look at your komoot link and trace it it in more detail.
Good Journey!!!

@Juradude Yes, thanks. Your route Rosendal -> Voss is the same as mine but reversed and I will loop through Ulvik so that I can ride across Hardanger Brua.
Thanks for sharing your photos and experiences. I hope to be able to return the favor starting next month.
