In mid to late June, im looking to cycle up Mjølkevegen from Vinstra, work my way to Tusenmeteren and eventually ride Gamlestrynefjellvegen on the way back from Nordfjord. With a few other National Scenic Turist Routes along the way.

I’m also thinking about coming to Norway in mid-June to ride a combination of Mjølkevegen and Rallarvegen. I found the inspiration at bikepacking.com.
What is your general opinion that the trails are already passable in mid-June? From what I read, June is still a bit early for the cycling season.-
@vttetski The mountain roads seem to be earlier than usual. I talked to my friends in Vinstra, where I will start my trip, and Mjølkevegen (Jotunheimvegen) is open to Valdresflye. Vegvesen.no has a map which shows which roads are open or still closed. The problem is with abandoned roads like Tusenmeteren and Rallarvegen. I don’t think they are covered by this map. I plan on riding Tusenmeteren, but if it is closed, I’ll follow the main road to Øvre Årdal. Tindevegen to Turtagrø is opening soon so then I’ll be clear to ride to there and then to Gaularfjell and on to the coast. Relatives in Vossavangen are also reporting a lot less snow than usual and have been hiking up in the mountains.
So it is possible that Rallarvegen May be open in mid-June. You may need to check websites for communities or businesses in the area to see if they have information.
Lykke til.1
