MSR Hubba NX…altho it is new to me as I’d previously used a far heavier Marmot

Mine will be half day rides this May and June (motorhome trip for 6 weeks) based on finding stuff on Strava/Komoot coupled with your videos for inspiration (have to appeal to my wife too)…the pic at the top of this page shows the perfect track (where is that?)

Ahne, have you thought about having a bike custom made ? There are small independent manufacturors right across Europe. It may cost a little more than off the peg but you should then get a bike to the exact spec you want. (Sorry, I don’t know which country you live in to look at bike builders around your home)

Sort of replying to myself here……I found some Giro Ventana with a very healthy discount so ordered a pair…that are now sat waiting for the existing pair to wear out…(no sign of that yet, they’re superb)

Coincidentally, I have some earl7 Giro Ventana….pre the boa fastener. I wear them for 95% of my riding, road, gravel MTB…swapping to proper aggressive MTB shoes if it is muddy where I live in France. When they’re worn out (no sign yet) I’d happily by the Giros again. They’ve been superb for me (Thinking about it…perhaps I should buy a pair now and not risk being unable to find a pair in a year or 3)

She’s a ‘potterer’. I have to keep telling her to go lower on the gearing and to up the assistance…she still thinks it’s ‘cheating’. MTB it is then. (We are evenly matched when I’m on it…less so on tarmac when I’m on the gravel bike)

I suppose I could be cheesy and say ‘the one you already have’…but I suspect a few on here will be n+1 types…like me…and have several. For me, it would be a well sorted ‘gravel bike’…although 10 years ago, pre their existance, a cyclo-cross bike was remarkably similar. Good marketing ?

We are doing the length of Norway in our camper and doing various bits of it on cycles.
