• Norway Day 14

Normally, in our tent, we try to keep it tidy, but this morning, there is no way bits everywhere, as you can see in the photo. Soon after, we were all tidy, the sun was out, and we were off to find a pizza.

First, we had to navigate 100s of walkers taking part in an event, every age, a few different modes of transport, and lots of Hi Hi as we weaved in and out of them departing Olmedal.

The phones were soon out taking snaps as we climbed, legs were good today.

It was quiet everything was closed because of the national holiday, except for a garage, we stopped for some snacks and found Sjokoladeboller a hot bun full of chocolate and vanilla. As a special offer you could buy 6 for a few krone more than 2. We left the shop with 6, there was then 4. Carefully stored on the back of Jenni panniers.

Leaving the town on a new bike path, there was a sign explaining about the vikings industry and the finds of gold jewellery that were discovered during the paths construction.

It was now getting toward 3pm. we were hoping our pizza cafe in Olen was still open, pulling up the sign was on. 2 pizzas ordered vegi and Hawian. Next, I made a smaller box to carry pizza for tomorrow. Our panniers were looking full.

The last 16 km were on the E134 it was busy, but drivers were polite and waited for us to let them by, or it was safe to overtake. With the last 7km downhill to Etne Camping, finishing a great day on the bike and our taste buds enjoys the holiday treats.

A route replan tonight to take us on quiet roads tomorrow trying to avoid the E134 where possible.
