• Norway Day 9

Proberly the warmest toilet in the world?

Surprisingly the tent was dry this morning, we still had a battle to take it down as the wind was still refusing to subside.

The decent was quick a resupply, then another few km and our first ferry crossing. It was a very smooth operation for the 10 minute crossing which cost 10 euro.

While on the ferry we could see a wall of water chasing us, we decided to find cover as soon as we could. What luck, there was a warm bus shelter next to a cafe by the pier, so we ordered chips and set up in the shelter and ate our lunch.

Before leaving we both used the toilet so clean and set to 30 degrees, I have never had a warmer wee in a public loo.

For the afternoon we followed the route 503 along the coast, with some huge factories in one inlet followed by tiny fishing huts in the next. Happy riding even when it rained, the sun appeared quickly after the shower. So for the 10th time we changed clothes. This has been one of the frustrating parts of our adventure but until there is settled weather I think it will continue.

Finally we turned onto the last bit of road before the campsite, wow it was steep we had to get off and push. After check in we cycled around searching for a pitch, the first 2 after some chat were dismissed, no sun. But there around corner was a piece of grass to call home for the night.

A quick set up distrubuted the local killer midges who wasted no time in attacking us, bags in, doors shut. We then spent 30 minutes killing the ones inside with before we could chill.

Tomorrow we head north again, a cabin booked.
