• Norway Day 4

After a restful night, we set off about 11am a new route set to take some of the climbing out of the parcours.

The first 15km were on the coastal road past huge factories and a port, busy loading bulk carriers. After the port our first tunnel under a km long. Lights and safety jackets on, felt safe but the noise was loud. Great system in place you can press a button that lights up a panel to warn drivers cyclist are in the tunnel.

Shortly after we arrived at the port of Feda stopping for lunch next to the church, when filling up the water bottles I saw a propeller as a head stone, wandered over there were 2 commonwealth grave stones of RAF killed in the last few weeks of WWII.

We had had a bit of climbing before the valley roads started it was hard we always seem to have heavy legs after lunch, but it normally disappears after 30 minutes.

Miles and miles of lakes, forests and rolling roads followed, with many stops. This valley along the road number 466 had super sheer cliffs with fallen bolders the size of house lining the road. Not a place to camp under.

It is our first wild camp tonight, our spot overlooks a sandy beach, hoping for a warm night.

Tomorrow we continue along the valley.

      • Good luck for your first wild camp! Looks like a great place to pitch a tent 😊
