Hi Meg,
Me and my wife are just back from our sightseeing and leisure cycling tour south of Ålesund. We were looking more or less what you described, a loop with peaceful paved roads and beautiful surroundings. So here is what we would recommend based on our limited experience.
Ferry from Sula to Festoya – cycling to Indre Standal (amazing road)…

Thanks Matthew. It was a really nice ride through the islands. Quiet and beautiful. Couple of quite steep climbs for full touring rig. Also the road from Festoya ferry to Indre Standal and climb over the hill to Volda were amazing.<div>

Hello.
We are on our west Norway tour with my wife and arriving from Sandene to Floro tomorrow. From there we should get to Volda in about three days. Does anyone have recommendations for the route? We are considering the eurovelo 1 to Sulesund and from Solavagen to Festoya. I guess eurovelo is not signposted for that part. How is it otherwise?…
