Scenery cycling in Ålesund area
I and my wife are planning a two-week cycling trip (or two) starting from and returning to Ålesund late June. It would be great to get tips about what to see, experience and avoid. We value scenery, nature, culture, cuisine and laid-back riding on good roads (not too much traffic, not too long tunnels). Also tips for camping and wild camping spots are appreciated.
Our initial plans are to ride and see at least the surroundings of Strynevatnet and Lovatnet. Briksdalsbreen would be great, but we are a little hesitant because of the tunnel by Oldevatnet (how bad is it, is there a way to avoid?). Coming back to Ålesund, maybe along Eurovelo 1? If there will be time and stamina, maybe heading north of Ålesund along Eurovelo. The Atlantic road, is it nice riding by bike?
